Clostridium butyricum produces endogenous spores, which are heat-resistant and acid resistant. It is not affected by stomach acid,

Growth promoting function

The ability of Clostridium butyricum to perform this function depends on two factors: firstly, the presence of proteinase 1,
proteinase 2, and lipase in its body can promote the digestion and absorption of fats and proteins in animals. Secondly,
Clostridium butyricum serves as an amino acid carrier, capable of transporting all amino acids but not decomposing them. So it is
beneficial for promoting animal growth. Someone pointed out that using proteases, lipases, saccharification bacteria, lactic acid
bacteria, and butyric acid bacteria as effective ingredients to make special fish feed additives can promote the digestion and
absorption of protein and fat by fish, and increase the breeding rate. The three added bacteria can coexist in the intestine,
allowing various organ functions to function better and improving the intestinal microenvironment. When 0.5% and 2% additives were
added to the feed as experimental groups and fed for 8 weeks, the feed efficiency was 8.0% and 7.0% higher than the control group
without additives, the weight gain rate was 12.0% and 11.5% higher, and the feeding was early, with more mucus secretion on the
body surface, fresh body color, moderate fat in the meat, improved taste, reduced disease and mortality rates, reduced fecal odor,
and granular solids that were easy to remove. The experiment on broiler chickens also demonstrated the function of Clostridium
butyricum. Li Shu et al. used Clostridium butyricum preparations in aquatic products, resulting in an increase of approximately
30% -40% in daily weight gain rate for fish and specialty aquatic products, and an increase of over 22% for omnivorous fish (Li
Shu and Congning, 1998).
